Do You Believe In “The Power of Prayer”?

Whether you do or do not believe in the power of prayer, I can tell you that prayer in my life has set the universal Law of Attraction into immediate action over and over again.
Did I hear someone ask me to give an example from my own life? Here’s one.

You can attract anything to yourself through the power of prayer. The scientific evidence for this is The Law Of Attraction.

The anecdotal evidence for this is found in the lives of so many of my clients, and of course, in my own life. It’s pretty much a way of life for me. I encourage you to make it a way of life for yourself, too.
And remember: I’d love to get all of your feedback, and any questions, ideas and comments.

    Hello Donna

Dr. William Sadler, who was was a well-known American psychiatrist, said this about prayer, “in neglecting prayer we are neglecting the greatest single power in the healing of disease.” In your story you mentioned the idea of letting go and letting God, which is the idea of surrender. I have found that prayer is not a formula, special words, but as you describe surrender. Not to surrender, is like a a branch not surrendered to the vine, but cut off and on its own. Prayer is a way of life for me.

    Thanks

So well said Perry! I loved the way you described your reply to my post. I do believe what Dr. William Sadler says. That letting go and letting God sometimes is very difficult to do. When we come to that point, it is with not only our intellect, but our hearts. When we can truly let go and give it up to God, things certainly happen. Sometimes immediately or sometimes we have to wait. Waiting is faith. If we have that and know that God will answer, it is the greatest power of healing. Like you, Perry, prayer is a way of life for me too!

    Prayer = Law of Attraction.
I think that the principle here is that when we pray, we have this undefined strength within us and we believe that everything we do is going the right way. So I guess this is the way prayer works, and I believe in that too. Keep the faith burning. 🙂

    Donna,

Love this story. I have heard some preachers say that you can pray for the little things in life and not just the big things, like for a marriage or a really sick person. When you are in tune and in touch and know what you want and it’s for the good, then God and the Universe support you! I love your story, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks Jim, I pray for just about anything. But the key here is patience which comes with faith. When you put something out there it always comes back. Some times larger than you might think.

That’s the ticket Eldridge! You may not get it immediately, but with Faith, it comes slowly sometimes. Keep your eyes open because sometimes you are doing scientific prayer and you get MORE than what you asked for.
    Smiles,
    Donna

    Hey Donna,

I have recently discovered the power of scientific prayer. Praying like you already have it and giving thanks and appreciation for it.

Just like the Law of Attraction, just praying to God and the Universe for what’s on it’s way and is happening in this current moment even though it hasn’t arrived yet but I have faith that it’s on it’s way:)

    Hi Donna,

Thanks for sharing this inspirational post.

Dr. Wayne Dyer speaks of wishes, desires, and using the Power of Intention to bring these thoughts into reality.

I use positive self talk, affirmations and visualizations and if you believe strongly enough, these wishes will manifest themselves. The Law of Attraction can work for anyone who is willing believe and be a go giver and put it out there…what you desire and wish for will be attracted into your life.

My wife uses the power of prayer and it has worked for her many times. I need to get more in touch with that as a way to manifest my desires.

    Keep inspiring us,
    Marc

    • Donna Merrill October 19, 2011 at 4:27 pm #

Hey Marc, I use the power of prayer and also a lot of self-talk visualizations, etc to manifest that good old Law of Attraction too.
      Thanks,
      Donna

    Hi Donna

I am so glad for you that you have proof to show the world about prayer.

I want to say that i use to do it in the old traditional way and some time i ask my self does it rely work ?

Well the last coppel of month’s i did get a new point about prayer and how to make it work faster and Better. I do talk every day with God not just on my knees but as i wolk to work ext.

What i do is the thank Him 1st for a new day then i start to say things out loud “The power of In-tension and Self talk” .Things that I need and want.

I can see how it is answered in-font of my eyes almost daily.

    Thx for A great post.

    Regards
    Theuns

    • Donna Merrill October 19, 2011 at 2:49 am #

Awesome Theuns! There are so many ways to pray. This reminds me of a book “conversations with God” that was written a while ago. All it is about is giving thanks, understanding how blessed we are and just talking to God. I incorporate prayer every day during a walk, or doing dishes, things like that.

    Dear Donna,

I love this video and your personal story. Fantastic!!

I resonate with this kind of thinking. The inner and outer worlds are so connected – the hologram of life. When we connect and fellowship with others, meditate, pray – we invite the ‘powers that be’ to help us bring forth our desires. Way to shine your light and share it with others!

    Thanks for sharing!

Hi Donna, your videos are always easy to listen to, and have lots of energy! I think prayer can be rather like setting an intention. It’s better to let go of some situations like you described, and to trust that the universe will give us what we desire. Setting an intention or saying a prayer lets the universe know exactly what we want.

    Have a fun day! Julieanne

    • Donna Merrill October 19, 2011 at 1:49 am #

Oh I’m flattered Julieanne! Yes setting an intention goes out to the universe and the collective consciousness. Things DO HAPPEN.

  13. Adrienne October 18, 2011 at 2:30 am #

    Hi Donna,

I’m SO glad you shared this personal experience with us. I think a lot of people get disheartened because they expect things to happen immediately but let’s face it, you really have to believe just like you do.

I’m a big believer in the power of prayer. I have seen wonderful things happen in my life because I have prayed about it and like you, just let it go.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us. And I’m thrilled to hear that you got rid of that house quickly too. If you want it bad enough, you usually get it! Love that!

    ~Adrienne

Thanks Adriene. I appreciate your wonderful comment. It is encouraging to me.

    Hey Donna,

You have just shared an amazing story ! 🙂 Great to hear that your prayer is magical and it helps to attract what you want..good that it works wonder on your property sale.

Actually, I believe very much in prayer and most of the time they were all answered directly or indirecly. Prayer attracts what we want in life and at the same time, it really gives us a lot of courage and that courage will make us strong. Believe in the power of prayer ! 🙂

Thank you, Donna. I will give thanks to God before my bedtime 🙂

    Cheers
    Pearly

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 9:30 pm #

You are so sweet Pearly! Giving thanks is the most important part. To be thankful even if that prayer didn’t get answered yet. This story is quite amazing, but other times I ask for something and I receive something else one hundred fold.
      Isn’t life grand?

  15. Rick Lelchuk October 17, 2011 at 1:21 pm #

    Donna,
I think prayer is a connection to the Universe, but the most important piece is that you let go of the technical side of things and connected to spirit.
The Universe doesn’t always answer us how we’d like or when we’d like, but it always answers.
    Best,
    RICK

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 9:28 pm #

Hi Rick, It is a connection to the Universe and sometimes the answers come quickly, and sometimes we need patience and faith for it to come. And yes, It always answers, but we can’t forget that when we ask for something we need to ask for the vision to SEE it. That’s my little insurance policy I usually say.

  16. marquita herald October 16, 2011 at 6:46 pm #

Inspirational Donna … I do believe in the power of prayer, though I rarely use it – at least not in the traditional sense.

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 9:26 pm #

The power of prayer is used in both “traditional” and non traditional ways. Our intentions of reaching for a higher power to help us is part of our matrix I believe. As long as we are reaching above ourselves, it will work.

  17. Dr. Erica Goodstone October 16, 2011 at 1:45 am #

    Donna,

You look lovely in your video – so serene and natural. Thank you for sharing this because there is something I want at this point and I have not taken the time to stop and pray for it to happen. I did pray for a healing for myself and voila, the right people appeared to lead me to the right dietary changes and the healing is happening now.
Prayer is so powerful. We are sending our intention and desires out to the universe and our subconscious mind gets the message to help us out too. The rest is out of our own hands.

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 9:24 pm #

You said it Erica. The rest is really in our own hands. We are creatures with free will. Sometimes that becomes a problem. We can have that will to pray and receive, but sometimes choose to ignore it. It really is up to us because we are the master of our own destiny.

The power of prayer is very important. I’ve seen prayer work miracles. Keep an open mind

    Thanks

  19. Rachel Lavern October 15, 2011 at 3:39 am #

    Hi Donna,
Isn’t it interesting how you referred to this incident as your “magical” story. Many consider such things as magical when it is just our faith producing the results that the bible tells us that it would, right? Faith can move mountains and God’s word tells us to ask, believe, receive.

Many people have asked me if visualizations, affirmations work and have wanted me to share examples from my own life. I usually make it clear that although, I may use such tools, I always also pray to God.

    Thanks for sharing your story.

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 9:18 pm #

Yes I used the wor Magical because it is a common word with no regard to stirring a cauldron or casting spells lol. The term “just like magic” sometimes resonates with people as something that does happen quickly. We all have our pathways and tools to reach God.

  20. Lynda Cromar October 14, 2011 at 7:01 pm #

That is a great story thanks Donna. I agree with you Prayer is the magic sauce in our lives that attracts what we want if we will put the faith in it!

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 9:11 pm #

Thanks Lynda, it is the magic sauce. It is a practice of faith, thereby attracting exactly what we need. Some times we sell ourselves short, but we ask for something and get something bigger than we expected.

    Hi there Donna..
Power of prayer… totally in tune with the power of prayer… I also believe in giving… the more we give the more blessings we receive.
Love your blog… look forward to hearing more about you.

    best wishes

    Pete

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 9:09 pm #

Thanks for your comment Pete. I too believe that giving is better than receiving.

  22. Crescele October 14, 2011 at 10:03 am #

I have been raised to believe in the power of Prayers. It doesnt matter in what form you do it. As well as what name of your God. But the fact that you have a higher entity where you have so much faith. For 50 years of existence now I must say that it has been my secret to success. This is such a great post. I say yes to every point you said. Thank you.

    • Donna Merrill October 17, 2011 at 5:01 pm #

You are absolutely correct. Prayer is just a word. People may have different words for it. But it’s all the same, believing in the Creator or a Higher Power is the same name of God to me. It has worked all my life too.
